Central Iowa Works and Partners Prep for New Cohort of Direct Care Professional Training in Des Moines

The next cohort of Direct Care Professional Training is set to launch and Central Iowa Works is actively recruiting participants to join this new five-week session. The class meets October 19 to November 20 – Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – at Wesley Acres, as well as DMACC Capital Center, in Des Moines.

02Central Iowa Works is building ladders to success via great partnerships and an emphasis on connecting direct care workers with career opportunities in a variety of settings.

The employer-driven training – offered free of charge through a partnership of Central Iowa Works, Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families, Iowa Employment Solutions at DMACC, Iowa Works, DMACC Continuing Education, Easter Seals of Iowa and WesleyLife – features a comprehensive curriculum to give participants the knowledge and skills they need to prepare for or succeed in their careers.

It includes opportunities to receive certifications in the Iowa Prepare to Care curriculum, CPR/First Aid, Medication Management and Mandatory Reporting. Completers will also qualify to take the state exam for the Iowa Direct Care Registry.
