Training Opportunities in Health Care

Health Care

The healthcare business is booming. As the youngest baby boomers celebrate their 50th birthdays this year, the need to employ qualified health care personnel to both prevent and treat medical conditions intensifies.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports we not only need to retain those workers already in the field, but also add a substantial number of new ones, with the most occupational growth expected among health care support jobs. Between an influx of newly insured people and an aging population, it’s a field with lots of potential.

Demand for support staff for top-tier professionals, home health care needs for aging Americans and affordable quality care are driving employment increases throughout the health care industry

There are many different jobs in healthcare, and it’s just a matter of finding the one that matches your skills and your interestsNot all positions in the health-care field require a college degree. Along with needing a high school diploma or a GED, some may only require taking a course at a community college, earning a certificate, or completing a training program.

In partnership with DMACC and health care employers, CIW has developed the following health care certificate courses. These courses are approximately 8 weeks in length and are free to participants working with CIW.

  • Direct Care Worker
  • Health Care Support Tech
  • Patient Access Registrar
